Nursery flooring refurbishment for The Redbrick Day Nursery, Northampton

That was exactly the case at The Redbrick Day Nursery on Welford Road in Northampton, where we recently completed a flooring refurbishment designed to keep disruption to a minimum. The Redbrick Day Nursery provides childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a natural, homely environment, so it was important that the nursery remained open and operational during the whole week.

A practical flooring solution for a busy nursery

For this project, PDQ installed Victoria Carpets Universal Clic plank in Flint Grey over the existing vinyl floor. Because the product is a click system, no adhesive was required, which helped reduce installation time and meant little to no subfloor preparation was needed.

That made it a strong fit for a nursery environment where the programme needed to be tight and the space had to be ready for use again quickly. The full installation was completed over a weekend, allowing the nursery to continue running as normal during the week.

Victoria Design Floors states that its Universal 55 plank range is available in both dryback and click formats, with Flint Grey included in the collection. The range is a hard wearing, with a 0.55mm wear layer.
