Complete Flooring Installation for a Home in Milton Malsor

Working closely with Inspire, the PDQ team completed the floor and wall finishes throughout a four-bedroom property in Milton Malsor, Northamptonshire.

The project involved over 330 m² of engineered wood, carpet, luxury vinyl tile, stone and porcelain finishes. Each area required a different installation method and carefully planned preparation work.

Engineered wood flooring

We installed 40 m² of engineered wood flooring throughout the ground-floor entrance, WC and study.

Before fitting the flooring, we applied two coats of epoxy damp-proof membrane. Kiln-dried sand was added to the second coat to create a secure key for the wood flooring adhesive.

The finished wood flooring provides a consistent surface across these connected ground-floor spaces.

Cormar carpets and stair runner

A total of 183 m² of Cormar Carpets Primo Plus was installed across the four bedrooms, landing and staircase.

On the staircase, the carpet was fitted as a stair runner with banded edging. This created a defined finish while connecting the stairs with the carpeted areas upstairs.

Herringbone LVT in the bathrooms

Two bathrooms received 17 m² of Moduleo Roots luxury vinyl tile, installed in a herringbone pattern.

The subfloors were prepared using 6 mm plywood with mechanical fixings. A feather finish was then applied along the plywood edges to create a smooth base for the LVT installation.

Porcelain floor and wall tiling

The project also included 33 m² of porcelain tiling.

This covered the floor of one bathroom and wall tiling within three bathrooms, creating practical and consistent finishes throughout the property.
