The restoration process
Remove
Our sanding process uses coarse grit to remove the surface layer, filling any gaps caused by rot or breakage with the same type of wood – exposing the natural grain.
Sand & Fill
Our sanding process uses coarse grit to remove the surface layer, filling any gaps caused by rot or breakage with the same type of wood – exposing the natural grain. Next, we gradually increase the fineness of the grit until a smooth sheen is achieved, and use a triple-disc rotational sander to produce a flawless finish.
Finish
The final stage is the application of the finish. This captures the patina of the natural floor and its characteristics whilst adding a protective coating. This can be a lacquer, an oil, or hard wax oil – we apply at least two coats depending the type of finish to ensure the floor has the maximum durability – or we are happy to tailor it to our customers' requirements. As with all of our services, renovation is first and foremost designed to meet your needs.
